Retirement on your mind? Accounts in a few different places? A big change ahead? Start with what matters to you, and bring your investments, income, and family plans into one conversation.
For individuals, families, and business owners in Rochester and Western New York.
Retirement income
Know where your next paycheck will come from.
You’ve spent years saving. Now the question is how to use it. Look at your spending, savings, Social Security, and pension income together, including how withdrawals could change when markets or expenses do.
An old 401(k), an IRA, a brokerage account: each may have made sense on its own. The planned service brings them into one view, connecting investment choices, risk, and cash needs to what you want the money to do.
Separate what needs attention now from what can wait.
An inheritance can bring a lot of questions at a difficult time. Start by identifying the accounts, deadlines, and family priorities. Bring in your CPA and attorney for the tax and legal decisions that need their expertise.
Closing the sale opens a new set of personal decisions. How much needs to stay available? What will replace your income? The starting point is what you actually receive, when it arrives, and what you want life after the business to look like.
Tax considerations run through these decisions. Coordination with your CPA and attorney helps keep investment, withdrawal, and estate decisions connected.

Meet the person you’ll talk to
Meet Gregory Garone, CEPA®
Greg is a Certified Exit Planning Advisor building Morrowgate for individuals, families, and business owners in Rochester and Western New York. His approach connects financial decisions with the life those decisions need to support.
You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out. Bring the question that’s on your mind, what has changed, or the decision you keep putting off.
Tell Greg what’s on your mind and whether there’s a deadline. Ask your questions and get a feel for whether the planned offering fits what you need.
02
Get clear on the scope.
Before any future engagement, discuss the work, fees, responsibilities, and information needed. You should understand what you’re agreeing to.
03
Build from your priorities.
The planned process brings your accounts, income, and spending together, identifies next steps, and revisits decisions as your life changes.
Before we talk
A few things you may be wondering.
Do I need to own a business?+
No. This page is for individuals and families as well as business owners. Retirement, investments, and an inheritance are all good reasons to start a conversation.
Can I ask for a second opinion if I already have an advisor?+
Yes. Tell Greg what you’d like to understand better—your investment approach, retirement income, or how the pieces fit together. An initial conversation can help clarify your questions and whether a future review would be useful. Getting in touch does not commit you to moving your accounts.
Can you work with my CPA and attorney?+
The planned approach includes coordination with your existing professionals, with your permission. Your CPA and attorney remain responsible for tax advice and legal work within their respective roles.
How are fees determined?+
The final fee schedule is not yet published. Ask Greg about the planned scope of work and pricing. Fees and what they cover will be explained before you agree to any future engagement.
What should I bring to a first conversation?+
Start with your question and any deadline. You do not need to complete a calculator or upload statements to get in touch. If a further review makes sense, we will explain what information is needed.
Let’s talk
What’s on your mind?
A question is enough to get started. Send Greg a note, and he’ll follow up by email so you can decide on the next step together.
